Spreader Rolls

For spreading cross over of running web in order to get an even web without creases or to separate parallel running webs.
EIE Maskin supplies spreader rolls to all applications of the industry. Spreader rolls are mainly used in the paper and plastic industry but also within the steel indsutry.


The Structure of Spreader Rolls
The design of a spreader roll is depending on a number of factors in the application, for example temperature, web material, web tension, moisture content, web speed, acceleration, chemicals, static electricity etc.

• The surface of the roll body can be designed in many ways depending on the application. The main type of roll surface are rubber and steel. These main types can be added with a number of additives for different purposes (for example release properties, moisture resistance, resistance against chemicals, high wear resistance).
• The bow of the roll is fixed or variable depending on the extent of variations in the web material.
• The bow direction is adjustable in order to correct an uneven web.

Typical applications for spreader rolls are:

• Press section in paper machines
• Coating positions in paper machines
• Before the pope reel in paper machines
• In calanders
• Before the slitting station in winders and slitter rewinders
• Before the rewind in winders and slitter rewinders
